About

I’ve been interested in photography since I was very young when my father bought me my first photography book. Later, I got my first camera, a Canon AT-1. I used the camera as much as I could, but ultimately I was limited to the budget of a middle-school kid supporting a hobby with a small-town newspaper delivery route.

In college I studied electrical engineering and joined the military when I graduated. The military allowed me to live and travel all over the world. I’ve lived throughout the United States and Europe. The places I’ve traveled to are much too long to list, but are throughout North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia.

I’ve made photographs with film and digital cameras including Canons, Nikons, and others. My only formal photographic training was a couple semesters of black and white darkroom processing classes I took in college. The rest I learned by practicing and studying master photographers.

Over the years my photographic interests have changed from landscapes to more urban photography. Currently, I enjoy urban photography which includes street photography, architectural details and graffiti art.

To be honest, for me the subject of the photo is almost unimportant. I focus on photographic composition.

My photography kit is bare-bones. I shoot primarily with the Fujifilm XT-1 but love shooting with the iPhone too since it’s with me all the time. Photo processing is primarily via Adobe Lightroom and occasionally with Nik Silver Efex Pro 2.
